PROGRESS AND POSSIBILITIES – CBHL GIRLS HOCKEY
Several years ago a few clubs in the Capital Beltway Hockey League embraced the first-ever all-girls hockey teams in the region. Today, eight clubs host a total of fourteen all-girls teams and the recent expansion of Tier II National-Bound Girls hockey further expands the opportunities for girl hockey players in the region.
The CBHL has now launched their inaugural Girls Hockey Caucus as an adjunct committee to the larger CBHL association. The caucus includes all CBHL clubs with girls teams and those who are looking to grow girls hockey in their club and the region. A new Girls Hockey Commissioner reports the results of the Girls Caucus to the league membership.
One of the first steps in this effort is promoting the opportunities for current and future lady hockey players to join a squad near them. Listed below is contact information for CBHL-area teams. If you have never played, formerly played or merely have an interest in learning more about girls hockey near you, please contact one of the clubs below and find out why this great sport is even better now that girls teams are becoming a bigger part of the region . . . get in on the progress and be part of the possibilities.
